SIBO Treatment Update: Phase 2

SIBO Treatment Update: Phase 2

This Phase is Much Simpler

I’m currently in phase 2 of the SIBO treatment.  Phase 2 involves taking 2-3 biofilm disruptor capsules daily for 12 weeks – that’s all.

This biofilm disruptor is a stronger form than the one I was taking during phase 1.  As a refresher, the biofilm disruptor consists of an herb, like black cumin, along with a few other things.  The biofilm disruptor disturbs those SIBO organisms that live in a plaque-like substance.

All I am taking is Biofilm Phase-2 Advanced by Priority One.  It can be purchased directly from Priority One or Fullscript.

I have two weeks left of this final phase.  The biofilm disruptor capsules are to be taken on an empty stomach, so I have been taking mine in the morning while I drink my 20 ounces of water.

My practitioner prescribed the biofilm disruptor to be taken four days a week with a break from them for three days.  I have been limiting the number of FODMAPS I eat, but I haven’t been strict about it.

SIBO Treatment Phase 1 vs. Phase 2

Here is a short breakdown of the difference between Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the SIBO treatment I have been on.

  • Xifaxan

    Neem

    Biofilm Disruptor

    Low FODMAP Diet

  • Biofilm Disruptor

    Low FODMAP Diet

Supplementation for the Win?

My stomach is still feeling a lot better than it did when I started this journey and I think it is because I introduced these to my routine a few months ago.

I love Calm magnesium powder because it relaxes me for sleep and it helps me have regular bowel movements.

I add the SunFiber to my morning coffee and find that the combination of that and the Calm magnesium powder help me have regular, consistent bowel movements.

This Helps My Stomach and Aids in Regular, Productive Bowel Movements

  • Calm Magnesium powder at night

  • SunFiber in the morning - Discount code through Tomorrow’s Nutrition - Frewert10

  • MotilPro as needed - available on Amazon and Fullscript

  • Additional magnesium citrate in the form of capsules when I am not as regular as I’d like to be.

I am also taking the supplements Jazmin recommended during my last virtual visit.  The supplements she recommended are tailored to my blood test results.

Practitioner-Recommended Supplements Based on Blood Test Results

  • Vitamin B Complex Plus by Pure Encapsulations

  • ProOmega 2000 by Nordic Naturals

  • Vitamin D with K (for better absorption)

I don’t know if it’s a combination of all these supplements that are helping me feel better, or if one is the magic bullet, but I will continue to take these to feel good every day.

Foods Rich in Vitamins and Minerals?

Ideally we could gain the vitamins and minerals we need from our food.  One of my next challenges may be to incorporate more foods into my diet that are rich in the vitamins and minerals I lack.

Have you found a supplement or multiple supplements that help you feel your best?  What are they?  I’d love to hear!
